Boutique Owner Gives Back
You may have heard about our campaign #insideandout We started this campaign because our suits are beautiful from the inside out, and we wanted to encourage our models, ambassadors, and contest winners to be that way too! This month we interviewed Miranda Hartlieb who is a mother, business owner, and philanthropist. There's no doubt that she is a beautiful girl, but she also has a heart of gold. See our interview with Miranda below!
B: You're a mother, wife, business owner, and you give back to charity. You are the definition of beauty #insideandout. What inspires you to be a good woman?
M: Thank you! My faith in God helps me to see the positive in every situation. I am inspired by others. There are so many amazing, good hearted people in the world. I have been so blessed to meet so many on my journey through life.
B: You started a boutique which benefits families of chronic and terminally ill children. What inspired you to become part of this cause in such a big way?
M: I am married to a retired professional hockey player and during our hockey years we were very involved in the Golisano Children's hospital and met so many amazing children, many who unfortunately have passed away. They inspired me! There was never a day they didn't have a smile on their faces. They are true heroes. I look up to them in so many ways. I wish more people could see the world through their eyes!
B: You're the wife of an athlete, and you seem like a very active family. How do you and your husband encourage your kids to stay active?
M: We are hockey 24/7 and that is no exaggeration! I have many bruises to prove it. We try and lead by example. We eat prepped meals and encourage our boys to choose apples overs sweets, even though that is sometimes a challenge with them being 1 and 3. We teach them that being healthy and working hard is the only way to live well and be successful.
B: What is next for Nine?
M: We are currently renovating an airstream in preparation of going mobile next season! Much like California boutiques on wheels. It would be new to our area, but I think it would be an interesting twist for our town.
B: You're in great shape! Do you have any advice for those who are trying to lose weight after giving birth or for those who are just trying to tone up?
M: Healthy eating! Trust me when I say I have my weaknesses too! Overall staying focused on eating well and refueling your body! As a mom, I am often drained of energy so I get it back by going to the gym every morning, even when I don't want to. I always feel better, ALWAYS! I try not to compare my body to anyone else. I focus on my goals and what I hope to achieve for my body. With my first son, I gained 70 pounds (YES I KNOW!). I didn't eat well, and simply didn't know how to handle pregnancy and gestational diabetes. I knew after having him I wanted to be healthy not only for my family but for myself. My best advice is to focus on YOU. After becoming a mom so much time is focused on your little one. Make sure to take at least an hour out of each day for you. You WON'T regret it.
B: How can we shop at Nine Resale Boutique?
B: What does being beautiful inside and out mean to you?
M: It means having a good soul. Being true from the inside out! I think that being beautiful on the inside reflects upon your outer shell and draws people into deeper beauty you can't create with makeup.
B: Who do you most admire as a role model?
M: I admire my mother. She's the true definition of beauty inside and out. She has overcome so many obstacles in life and taught me to find beauty in everything I do. She created my vision of the world when I was small, and I have carried that with me my whole life. She taught me to be a giver. We are a team. She encouraged me to follow my dreams, and I created this boutique with her as my partner.
B: What advice can you give to young women?
M: Believe in yourself, be humble, treat others kind and be true.
B: Your boutique is amazing. We love your style! What is your favorite style at Nine right now?
M: I am a country girl at heart, so I always get excited when lace, cutoffs, and plaid dresses come in!
